Alassio is preparing for another day of great sport: Sunday, September 28th will see the 12th edition of the Granfondo Internazionale Alassio, the prestigious amateur road cycling race organized by GS Alpi in collaboration with the Alassio Municipal Sports Department, through its subsidiary Gesco, and the Alassio Destination Network (RDA).
As every year, this race will be an unmissable event both for participants, who will have the opportunity to test themselves on a fascinating route—which winds along 90.6 km with a total elevation gain of 1,790 meters, between the sea and the hills, with unique views of the Bia del Sole—and for spectators, who will be able to watch the competition.
The 2025 edition will be made even more beautiful and precious by the presence of Gianni Bugno, the cycling legend, two-time World Champion, winner of the Giro d’Italia and Milano-Sanremo, triumphant at the Tour of Flanders and the Classica de San Sebastián, to name just a few of the victories achieved in his exceptional career.
“On behalf of myself and the entire Municipal Administration,” declared Alassio Councilor for Sport Roberta Zucchinetti, “we extend a warm welcome to all the cyclists who will compete in this truly splendid race on Sunday, which, thanks to GS Alpi, has grown over time to become a highly anticipated event in our city. This is a truly valuable event, combining sport and the promotion of our region, welcoming hundreds of cyclists and enthusiasts each year who enjoy a unique experience between the sea and our hilly amphitheater. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the organizers, to the Alassio Destination Network, which helped support this initiative, to the participating company Gesco, and to champion Gianni Bugno, who honors us with his presence and makes this edition even more special.“
The start is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. in front of the Muretto di Alassio in Corso Dante, with the finish line scheduled at the Sanctuary of Nostra Signora della Guardia.
Registration, organized by GS Alpi, is already open online until 8:00 p.m. on September 24th and will also be possible on-site on September 27th and 28th.
